Applied Mathematics

Math and science are more than just subjects in school.
Math and science are a VERY important part of EVERYONE'S world.
The more that you know about math and science, the more successful you will be.

I am a retired civil engineer.

Advanced mathematics and science

Civil engineers use advanced mathematics and science in designing roads, bridges, buildings, pipelines, etc.
Here's an example:

Calculating to the 2/3 power is more advanced than what you need to know now. But, if you want to be an engineer, you'll need to learn this, and even MORE advanced mathematics--calculus, differential equations, analytical geometry, etc.

All in due time. Today it's important to learn mathematics and science at your grade level. The rest will come, if you want it to.
